In Honor of the 33rd Olympic Games being held in Paris, join us to make your Olympic Games with the world around you. Start the week with opening ceremonies, find natural materials to build and compete in games you create in addition to building your own Olympic Village. End the week with a friendly competition and closing ceremonies with parents.

Welcome to Village Camp! This week, each group will work together through hands-on study and creative play, we will create our own village community in the forest. We will learn to build the physical structures of our village, and then create natural crafts and tools such as baskets, counsel sticks, pigments, small pots, and much more! We will learn to barter some of our creations with different group villages.
*This is a four-day camp to honor the holiday of Juneteenth

Everything in nature is connected. From mushrooms to coyotes, join us to explore what makes up an ecosystem! We will get our hands dirty learning about soils and our feet wet learning about water. We will investigate trees from their roots to their leaves and track animals by their scat. Discover what makes a plant grow, what makes water flow, and how all things, living and nonliving, are woven into the web of life.

July 1-5 Coyote Camp

Coyote is nature’s trickster. We will follow their lead as we tap into our sense of humor and immerse ourselves in the playful spirit of the Coyote. Using this energy, we will gently push our edges as we adapt to the forest around us. Patience, planning, and stealth are key for causing good coyote mischief!

Branch out with us and learn more about trees and your place in the forest. From saplings to stumps, you can’t have a forest without trees! Tall trees, short trees, fallen trees, and snags - each one plays an important part in the forest ecosystem! We will get to know the quiet giants of the forest through up-close examination, sensory learning, and games.

Fully engage your mind and body while playing some of PWC’s famous woodland games! Join us for story-driven games that encourage fair and honorable play. Children will learn to work in groups and resolve conflicts in a safe environment. During these games, your child will strive to be quiet as a fox, fast as a wolf, and persistent as the wind!

Comfort and community can be built anywhere! In this camp, we will learn about shelters, fires, and primitive structures of all kinds. Learn what makes good mud, where to find the best rocks, and how to make a roof waterproof! Join us as we explore the forests and streams while responsibly using the resources the land has given us!

August 5-9 Drama in the Forest

Don a mask and become a character to explore the natural world through acting, improvisation, and storytelling! Warm up your stage voices to sing, act, and put on a show as we learn from ancient stories and the world around us. We will design sets and costumes, write a miniature play, and interpret old stories in a new way. Come play, explore, and express yourself!

August 12-16 Fairy Folklore

Fairies, gnomes, trolls, and sprites! We will hear ancient stories and lore from around the world. Together we will construct fairy villages and gnome homes. We will adventure to magical places in the forest to look for elusive friends. Make a costume from nature’s bounty and invent mystical tales of your own. This week is all about imagination!
