This camp is all about hiking, creek exploring, and taking time to hit pause and play games. Kids in this camp might enjoy hiking a mile or more to find the ultimate lunch spot, learning how to use a compass and map, practicing water filtration, and searching for evidence of the park's past.

Children will learn to work in groups and resolve conflicts in a safe environment. During these games, your child will strive to be quiet as a fox, fast as a wolf, and persistent as the wind!

August 11-15 Home Sweet Homestead

In this week of camp, we will discuss how people dwell off the land through gardening, gathering, and hunting This camp will involve how to collect food and water as well as how to make butter. The campers will also acquire the knowledge to make tools for hunting, shelter building, and fire building.

August 18-22 Tree Talkers

From saplings to stumps, you can’t have a forest without trees! Spend the week learning about these amazing plants. How can you tell the age of a forest? What do trees symbolize in cultures around the world? We will practice tree ID and look for clues about the history of the forest. Discover how trees communicate through their roots and move water up to their leaves. We will play tree inspired games and learn to use the materials they leave behind. Hear their voices in the wind and read their story in the forest!
