WILD FOR A DAY

Spring Single-Day Camps

Drop-off: 8:30 - 9:00 AM
Pick-up: 2:45 - 3:00 PM

camper Price (ages 7-12): $75
CIT price (ages 13-17): $35

Option to add aftercare until 5:30 PM for an additional fee

Our Wild for a Days are special one-day camps held on teacher workdays and other holidays. Join us in the forest for the day as we practice naturalist and survival skills, explore the parks, meet the local wildlife, and play some of our favorite woodland games!

CITs (Counselors in Training) are required to attend Outdoor Leadership Camp.

Spend a week in the wild with some of our favorite camp themes! These camps are designed for spring breaks or track-out schools. Campers will have a week to learn specific skills and play our favorite Piedmont Wildlife Center games!

Looking for childcare outside of our scheduled programming? If you have a group of 8 - 12 campers, we can run a custom adventure just for you! Please email camp@piedmontwildlifecenter.org for space and staff availability.

 

Mystery week

Track 2

February 17 - 21

Camper- $365 CIT-$165

What is Mystery Week? A week full of fun and surprises: each day, the theme will be something different. Monday might be about Owls and Tuesday might be about Fire Building. Each day will be a new experience with different activities and nature exploration.

March 10 - 14

Camper- $365 CIT-$165

This camp is all about knowing what creatures and critters live in our neighborhoods. What are they doing? How can we help them live peacefully in the wild? Our week will be filled with up close encounters, hands-on discovery, games, stories, little known facts and perplexing mysteries. The wonder of life science will be our central theme and we will wield all of the tools of the modern naturalists so we can explore everything we see.

 

Wild Worlds

Track 4 and Traditional Spring Break

March 31 - April 4

Camper- $365 CIT-$165

This is a camp of exploration and discovery. Reptiles, amphibians, dragonflies, slugs, crawfish, spiders and other small extraordinary creatures are hiding in the wilds around us. Find them, learn their daily routine, and appreciate the role they play in the wonderful world of nature!

April 28 - May 2

Camper- $365 CIT-$165

The creeks and ponds are full to the brim, and amphibians of all kinds are active! Exchange your lungs for gills and keep your skin wet as we explore the water features at Umstead from an amphibian’s perspective. We’ll come face to face with many of these plants and animals as we study streams and search for salamanders!
